January 2010 - Thank you for visiting Other Than Roses Photography. Currently I am not accepting any new clients. Thank you for taking interest in my work and I wish you luck and success in your search for a quality wedding photographer!

My approach to documenting weddings is to allow the day to unfold naturally. This lends to the best photographs. I use natural light whenever possible to minimize my presence and to allow the mood of the day to come through. Many of my clients’ state afterward “We hardly noticed you there”. I don’t want the day to be remembered as a photo shoot, but I always get the shots that are needed to create the story.
Wedding photography has as much to do with personality and personal relationships as it does artistic talent. It is often the relationship between the photographer and our clients that defines great wedding photography. After years of photographing weddings I still adore how well I get along with my couples, how much we have in common and how similar we view the wedding day. I’m blessed that because of our professional relationship, I’ve ended up with some wonderful friends along the way.
To describe the brides and grooms that I work best with is to describe myself: relaxed and easy-going but kind of picky about what I like, particularly when it comes to the details. I look forward to spending time with my close friends and family and love to share my discoveries of great music, art, food and fun with them as well.
For you the wedding day is a time to celebrate, relax and enjoy the fun. I prefer to capture photos that show the day as it really looked vs. spending hours on posed photos. Of course we do some posed family photos, but most of my clients prefer the images that capture the inner person they know their friends and family to be, not just their “photo faces”.
The images showcased in my galleries are some of my personal favorites from my weddings over the past few years of many happy moments, smiling faces, and cherished quiet times between the Bride & Groom together on their special day. I love for people to tell me afterwards that they normally hate to have their photo taken, but I made them feel so comfortable and that they love the photos. They love how relaxed the look and how their true personality shows through.
