Wedding – Stephanie & Valentin

Stephanie, Valentin & Family live up in the DFW area, but got married last weekend at the beautiful historic Travis Park United Methodist Church in downtown San Antonio. I have driven by this church many times, but this was my first time inside. The Bride’s getting ready area was complete with a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling mirrors and chandeliers! Gorgeous! While we were in the beautiful room- the boys were getting ready in the children’s nursery room… heehee They didn’t mind though.. in fact we have proof of them playing with the toys and shooting hoops from the floor.

What a great group!

After the ceremony officiated by Valentin’s Father, the Bride & Groom were whisked away in a beautiful white classic Bentley while the wedding party went to the reception in stretch-hummer style! While they rode around the the stocked hummer limo, we followed the Bentley over to the McNay for some after-wedding photos of the adorable new couple. Unfortunately with older.. umm I mean “classic” cars.. there can be issues. As the driver found out when he left the car running while we took off for photos. We came back to find the hood steaming and a big puddle of water under the car!

The driver was great! Placed one call and they had another ride there in about 10 minutes to whisk the couple off to their perfectly PINK reception at the Pearl Stables (former home of the Pearl Beer Brewery).

The new Mr & Mrs then made their entrance though a Marine Arch (complete with sword swat!). The location was great, the decorations beautiful, the food delicious, the band live, and the DJ rockin’!

Was a good night….

WOW – what a beautiful bride and a stunning dress!

Stephanie got married to her Valentin last weekend, so I can put these up now… yay!

Stephani and family live up in the DFW area, but chose to get married down here with their families. Even though she is about 5 months pregnant – you can’t tell at all in her photos! Her new Mommy glow really shined though in her photos at the McNay on a beautiful blue-sky Monday Morning. If it weren’t for the fact she forgot to eat and almost passed out a couple of times during the shoot – I would have been able to keep shooting this beauty all day!

Bridal – Patti (McNay grounds)

Patti was referred to me by a mutual friend – and I am SO glad she called me! I knew from our first meeting that Patti would be a GREAT client to work with! She has such a fun personality and so sweet, not to mention red hair, that it made taking her picture so easy. We had so much fun that we spent almost 3 hours shooting around the McNay grounds!

Special thanks to “the Mom’s” for being such troopers and hanging in there for so long and being there whenever I needed a veil moved, dress adjusted, forehead wiped or a hand with a shot. I know she didn’t pick the photo yall wanted for the display – but I know that you were happy with it when you saw it printed out at the wedding.

Martin Family – McNay grounds

My fiance’s best friend here in San Antonio recently found out that he has cancer in his Appendix, Intestines and stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The MD Anderson clinic said they give him about a 10% chance of making it past 2 years. We received the call about this on a Friday night and they said that Monday he would be starting a very aggressive treatment program with 3 types of chemo at once.

I insisted that we meet up that weekend and take some family shots of him, his wife, and their adorable 2 year old daughter before he started the treatments.

We picked the McNayto start at and were going to move over to the Japanese Tea Gardens, but it started to downpour right as we were about to leave the McNay – so we called it a day.

We got some great shots that I know will be treasured for a lifetime!

(ps – if you find the time… can you please put he and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this trying time. thanks… mel)
