Mata Family Photos

These photos were taken for the Mata Family. I met Lori at a previous wedding I was shooting over the summer and we talked about her husbands parents upcoming 50th anniversary. They are having a mass and reception in February, but wanted some family photos taken beforehand of all the family together to have on display at the reception.

They showed up in jeans and black shirts and specifically wanted the prints in Black & White. I also took several of the happy couple as well.

They were a fun group to work with and i can’t wait to cover the Mass and reception in a couple of months!

Saxon & Eros Birthday Party!

Since my grandsons birthdays are just under a month apart, my daughter decided to hold a joint party for the both of them in between their actual special days. Saxon turned 3 on September 12th, and Eros turned 1 on October 6th.

(1) Saxon got his Speed Racer cake….

(2) A smaller cake just for Eros to ‘dig’ in to!

(3) Saxon only takes one try to blow out his candles

(4) Saxon then sang “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Eros…” and blew out the candles for his little brother

(5) Eros wasn’t too sure what to do with the big hunk of food in front of him, at first…

(6) Then he dug in and figured it out….

(7) and boy did he like getting his hands all in the cake!
(8) Off tot he bathtub for Eros… look at that 2-tooth grin… what a happy birthday boy!

(9) Digging in a cake and making a mess… AND a bath… what an AWESOME birthday!!!!

(10) Saxon got to lick the icing off of Speed Racer
(11) Lots of presents for the boys to open.
(12) Only at 3 can you get sooooo excited over new underware. Well, they were speed racer and batman undies… I guess thats exciting!

(13) A Bow on the baby… Just cause we had to… lol

(14) Saxon finished opening his presents and gladly helped out with opening Eros’s…

Martin Family – McNay grounds

My fiance’s best friend here in San Antonio recently found out that he has cancer in his Appendix, Intestines and stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The MD Anderson clinic said they give him about a 10% chance of making it past 2 years. We received the call about this on a Friday night and they said that Monday he would be starting a very aggressive treatment program with 3 types of chemo at once.

I insisted that we meet up that weekend and take some family shots of him, his wife, and their adorable 2 year old daughter before he started the treatments.

We picked the McNayto start at and were going to move over to the Japanese Tea Gardens, but it started to downpour right as we were about to leave the McNay – so we called it a day.

We got some great shots that I know will be treasured for a lifetime!

(ps – if you find the time… can you please put he and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this trying time. thanks… mel)

Army Graduation – Ft Sill, OK

I’m realy late in getting these posted up here – but back on April 3rd, 2008 I had the proud honor of watching my Son-In-Law graduate from US Army Basic Training up at Ft. Sill, OK. We are so proud of him and excited for the chapter this opens for he and my daughter!

My Grandson – Eros Ryker at 4 months

My daughter Tanja and her youngest son, Eros, came by a few weeks back to have some photos taken to send to her husband who is away at ‘boot camp’ for the Army. The older grandson, Saxon, wasn’t feeling well – so we just took some of Eros.

I think these are some just downright adorable shots of my grandson Eros – if I do say so myself!!!

I hope you enjoy them as much as i enjoy my boys!

Operation Love ReUnited – 9 Feb 2008

On Saturday February 9th I had the honor of my first Operation Love ReUnited

photo shoot.

If you’re not familiar with the organazition, photographers volunteer our time and creativity to capture precious memories of the families of deployed service members. We then send (at no charge) a book of the photos to the deployed spouse.

I signed up for this since many moons ago I was a military wife and know how hard it was for him to be away for any lengths of time. Being a civil servent here on Lackland and dealing with airmen of all ages and ranks and knowing what they sacrifice on a daily basis it just felt right!
