FAQ’s:
Do you do photojournalistic style as well as posed?
Yes, you need to catch the real moments during the day as well as the group photos. Those photos will tell the story of your wedding day. Weddings are often family reunions where members of families are coming together from all over the country. I do assure my clients I will make the posed photos memorable and fun as well as the candid’s.
What is a second shooter and why do all your packages include one?
A second shooter is simply a second professional photographer that I have with me at all events. I have found that at even the smallest of ceremonies – I can’t be everywhere! So I always have another photographer to catch what else is going on while I concentrate on the Bride & Groom. They are there to catch the reactions of the guests, the kids playing outside, the details of the venues, etc. With 2 photographers – you can be assured that almost nothing will go undocumented on your special day!
Do you travel for destination weddings?
Have passport, will travel!!! I love the opportunity to travel to all kinds of different locations! By bringing along your own photographer you will know in advance the quality of the photos you will receive. You’ll be able to meet with me before the trip to work out any details, instead of worrying about only corresponding through email.
The photography packages are structured a little different to accomodate your needs and while there are the additional fees for travel, lodging, meals, etc with this option – you have the peace of mind of knowing your photographer!
If you are interested in having me come along to your destination wedding – please just email me and we can discuss options to meet all your needs!
What about black & white?
I love black & white and most clients ask for some. In general I process some of the getting ready shots and random others throughout the event if I feel it adds to the feel of the images – unless otherwise requested. There is no extra charge for this service.
How do we plan out the day in regards to photography?
I will work with you to create a rough “script” so that you know what the plan is. This varies from client to client, but in general I like to arrive 1-1 1/2 hours before ceremony to photograph the bride getting ready. Then photos of her and her bridesmaids. My second photographer usually photographs the men getting ready while I’ am with the Bridal Party.
In an ideal scenario, I love to get the bride and groom together ahead of time to do portraits. When they see each other I always make it a special moment. He waits, she comes through a door and it’s their own private meeting for the first time on their wedding day. Everyone who has ever done this has said they were extremely happy with the resulting photos – taken at the beach or in a garden setting. You don’t have the pressure of the reception waiting for you.
How long do family photos take after the ceremony?
Of course it depends on how extensive and complex the family is. Generally I don’t like to go more than 30 minutes. I know how eager everyone is to get to the reception! If we make a list so that the important members of the family don’t leave early, we can usually be pretty quick about it.
What about the digital negatives and the quality of prints?
Digital Negatives (high resolution files) are included in some of my package so that if you want to print your images yourselves you absolutely have the option. A CD of Low Resolution (400×600) files are included in every package so that you can make a screensaver slideshow for your computer, email your favorite photos to family and friends, or use to put on your wedding website or social networking page (MySpace, facebook, flickr, etc).
I find that one reason my clients want the High Resolution Digital Negatives is that they think they can get a better deal on printing photos if they choose a lab. Let me show you the difference between my custom prints and those from your local drugstore. Unless you choose to go to a professional photography lab, the quality of the paper and ink used on my prints will be far superior to what you will be able to obtain. I use an outstanding local lab to print my images. If you choose to purchase the Digital Negatives, please ask me for a referral to a lab that will provide you with quality prints that will last a lifetime!
Do I really needa custom designed Album?
Well… do you needone? Not necessarily. But when you see the custom designs and layouts available and look at some of the sample albums, you will WANT one! (Don’t believe me? Look at the examples HERE)
After you get a chance to go over your images in the online gallery, I ask you to provide me with the images you absolutely have to have in the album (and any you specifically don’t want in there). We will then talk about the style, design and color options you are interested in. From there I take your selection of photos and build your custom wedding album. Your input in this process is crucial as this will be a lasting record of your wedding day. The albums high quality and beauty make them an heirloom possession that you will be proud to hand down from generation to generation!
When do I get to see my photos?
Your images will be totally edited before you see them. This ensures you only see the best of the best! Since the editing occurs before you see them, they are usually available online at least 3 weeks (but never later than 6 weeks) after your event.
Do you supply photos online?
Yes, all images from your event will be made available online in a password protected gallery.
Do I get photo proofs and may I keep them?
I can provide you with a proof book to keep if you wish, for an additional fee.
How long before we get prints?
After you order, generally allow one – three weeks. (Shipping and mailing times vary on the size/quantity of prints ordered.)
Costs?
My packages start at $1500 with an included coffee table book and digital negatives. Please feel free to contact me for a rate sheet.
