E-Session – Melanie & Michael

I met up with Melanie & Mike in downtown San Antonio early Saturday morning to get some shots of the two of them. They are such a good looking couple… Aren’t they??

We started off around Hemisphere Plaza and then headed towards La Villita and then down to the River Walk for a bit. I’m glad we met up as early as we did since we ended up having most of the locations to ourselves. Towards the end of the shoot it started to get kinda busy and we’d have to wait a bit for the shots. But we got them!

I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next October – back down in La Villita!!

E-Session – Catherine & Steve

I met up with Catherine & Steve at the Japanese Tea Gardens near downtown San Antonio to capture some images to celebrate their engagement. Despite Steve suffering through all the kissing I made him do with Catherine – they managed to keep it together long enough to get some great shots!

After having so much fun shooting them in the park – I can’t wait for their spring wedding!

E-Session – Katie & Chad (Corpus Christi)

I traveled down to Corpus Christi 2 weekends ago to shoot the engagement photos for Chad & Katie – a cute couple whose wedding I’m shooting up in Boerne this coming June.

We met up at JP Luby beach and looked around for a spot that wasn’t already occupied. It wasn’t too hard to do at 9am on a Sunday morning.

Their first outfit was Texas down to the boots on the beach! We walked around on the beach for bit and then headed down the beach and into the dunes for some shots. They figured out pretty quick that boots aren’t made for walking in soft sand.. heehee

After the dunes Katie changed into a sweet little white dress – perfect beach wear! I love the photos of her leaning on him looking out at the gulf!

Then we headed down to the pier… Lots of people fishing and some even catching stuff. There were several turtles popping their heads in and out of the water and tumbling around. Too Cute!

A big thanks to my assistant for the day – Marissa! Marissa is a friends daughter (that I’ve known since she was born) that is a HS Junior down there in CC. She’s been interested in photography and asked lots of good questions about posing and client interaction – and did a great job of helping me keep my gear out of the sand. lol Thanks sweetie!

E-Session – Rebekah & Zack (Austin)

Rebekah saw the photos I took for a mutual friends engagement session a few months back and called me up to see if I would do hers. OF COURSE I will!

The session was cut shorter that I usually like due to my not leaving myself 3 hours to get the 90 miles up to Austin on a Sunday evening… silly me! Sometimes I-35 traffic is sooooo baffling! lol

We met up at Mayfield Park in Austin. Yep – the place with all the beautiful peacocks. Well – I thought they were beautiful (albeit loud!).. poor Rebekah just does not like them. We had to keep watch out for them – and they were all out. I think it was feeding time.

All in All I think even with the limitations we got some great photos of this awesome couple!

E-Session – Will & Kirsten (Japanese Tea Gardens)

My 2nd shooter Eric and I had the fun opportunity to shoot some engagement pictures for the cutest couple! Will, who is in the military and stationed here in San Antonio set it all up for Kirsten’s Birthday weekend. Kirsten is finishing up school up in Kentucky so when we got together they hadn’t seen each other in 5 weeks!!!!

They were fun, playful and most of the shots we got were of them just being them (my favorite kinds of shots).

E-Session – Patti & Hoby (Japanese Tea Gardens)

Well, we did these kinda backwards.. I shot Patti’s bridals one weekend, her engagement the next weekend and their wedding the following weekend! But backwards or not – what a GREAT couple! Patti was worried that we wouldn’t be able to get Hoby to smile (since I hear he doesn’t like to have his photo taken)… But his smiles came easy and the love was evident when ever he looked at his beautiful bride-to-be, and we came away with many adorable and memorable photos that they will enjoy for a lifetime!

Thanks to Hoby for being such an agreeable subject!

This was the first time I have been to the newly renovated Japanese Tea Gardens (at Sunken Gardens near the San Antonio Zoo and Brackenridge park) and I am so glad I did! It’s not back to as lush as it used to be – but it is beautiful and is sure to get only better!

E-Session – Megan & Patrick (Austin)

I’ve known Megan for several years and was so excited when she called to say that she was engaged and wanted me to shoot their engagement photos and wedding in March 09!

My AWESOME 2nd shooter Eric and I drove up to Austin Sunday Morning and picked up the adorable couple. Our first stop was to the campus of the University of Texas and Bass Hall. They wanted some kind of photos from that area since that was were they first ‘met’ back in junior high! We were dissappointed to find it closed off and under major renovation, but managed to get some good shots there.

From there we headed over to have some migas for breakfast at Texas Chili Parlor! yum!

Then it was a quick outfit change in the Jeep and a short walk over to the Texas State Capitol for some more poses. We didn’t stay too long – lots of tourists!

Then one more outfit change while we drove over to Zilker Botanical Gardens.

After several hours of shooting, laughing, and sharing stories we dropped them back off at their apartment and headed back to San Antonio knowing we had a fun day and captured some great shots for the happy couple!

The Photographer gets Engaged!

Well on Saturday June 1st, my boyfriend of a little over 2 years, Aaron, proposed to me !!!!

I was clueless!!!!
We took our two dogs down to the beach for the first time to see how they liked the water (at least that was the only reason I knew we were going down to the beach!) and as I was sitting in waist deep water finally getting them brave enough to come in and get wet… he moved in with the video camera rolling (me thinking that he was recording the puppies first water romp)and popped the question…

The actual first words out of my mouth were – NO WAY! but not in the the bad way.. but in the totally schocked way!

And NO – no dates or any further thoughts on any kinds of wedding plans have been made at this time.. lol So far the only restrictions I’ve given him are NO Elvis impersonators, and NO drive thru vegas weddings.. >:o) But other that that – everything is still wide open!

Engagement: Eric & Pam

Meet Eric and Pam!

I work in the same building as Eric and we have been good friends for a couple of years now – in fact we are occassionally know as the “twins”. We look absolutely nothing alike, but our birthdays are just 4-days apart.. and our personalities, sense of humor and likes/dislikes are almost always the same.

So late last year Eric proposed to his beautiful girlfriend Pam and they have set the date for June 7th. I have to say I was just too excited when they said they wanted no one but me to do their photos. The wedding will be out at Randolph AFB, but a couple of weeks ago we went up to one of their favorite lil towns – Greune, Tx – for their E-session.

We headed out in the morning with my new assistant, Aaron >:o) OK – so his actual title is Boyfriend, but he likes to play along and he came along to 2nd shoot with me. He was a great help and got some great images for us! THANKS Babe!!!!
