North to Alaska!!!

I got a chance to go on a short notice Alaskan Cruise with my Mom and her friend Norma for Mothers day!!! My Aunt was supposed to go, but broke her pelvis (she’s doing MUCH better – thanks for asking!).. so I went in her spot!

~ We left out of Seattle on Mothers day and spent the next day at sea.
~ Day 3 was cruising up into Glacier Bay. I am still in AWE of the majestic sites from that day!
~ Day 4 was Jeaunu , Alaska – where I went on a photography tour (i know – duh – right.. lol) where we went out to look for wildlife and found some harbor seals playing a version of “king-of-the-hill” over a bouy. It was so much fun to watch and hear them snort and roar! We then docked and took a 1/2 mile hike through a rainforest that led us to on overlook to see the mendenhall glacier.
~ Day 5 was Sitka, where I went on a Sea Otter cruise with Mom and Norma. I then walked the town and got some beautiful images of some unopened tulips while Mom and Norma weny to a Salmon hatchery.
~ Day 6 we visited Ketchikan. Mom and Norma went to a totem pole place, and I took another rainforest walk and visited a raptor recovery center. They only had one owl and one mature Bald eagle in at the time… but WOW – to see them up that close was amazing!
~ Day 7 – well I should say the night of day 7 we were in Victoria, Canada. I took a bus tour of the city and then went to Craigdarroch Castle. I only had about an hour after that to walk around before getting back on the ship.
~ Woke up Saturday morning in Seattle and flew home.

What a place to send a photographer!!!! lol I tallied up all the shots I took and it was 2,647! I have beeen slowly going through them tring to get them all edited.

To see what I have edited so far – Take a click and stroll over to my Flickr collection. There are still LOTS more to edit – but there are many many up there to see now as well!
